This role is also commonly known as a waiter or waitress and involves being the middleman at restaurants between the guests and the cooks in the kitchen. Every time you’ve ever visited a restaurant, chances are that you’ve been served by plenty of waiters and waitresses. If you decide to apply for this job, you’ll be the one that now welcomes customers into the restaurant, places them at their appropriate table, and guides them through the menu which you’ll gain familiarity with.
After taking their orders, you’ll bring them over to the kitchen and let the cooks begin working their magic. As soon as they’re done with the meals, you’ll serve them and routinely check upon them to ensure satisfaction as they eat. When they’re finished, you can offer them carry-out and ring them up. With each table you serve, the better your listening skills, pace, and attitude will improve. Provided you do a great job with every order, you’ve got the chance to earn a limitless number of tips on top of the hourly wage you get.
