5- Not Enough Research

Research is important. Chances are, one of the reasons that you weren’t hired is because you didn’t demonstrate enough knowledge about the job or the company to show employers that you truly knew what you were in for. Especially in the interview stage, employers might ask questions to test your knowledge in this aspect to assess that you actually took the time to learn all about the organization and have a passion for your role. In knowing this, you should spend some time researching and learning several things.

Be familiar with who the CEO or the owner is, the company’s goals, missions, and values, the company culture, and what exactly your role entails. For extra bonus points, be sure to follow up with questions that demonstrate interest, attention, and detail. By doing your research, you’ll leave a fantastic impression upon your employers.
